Statutory Review of Welsh Language Services of High Street Banks – 2015

This statutory review was commissioned by the Welsh Language Commissioner following a significant rise in the number of concerns received about banking services during 2014.

The aim was ‘...to conduct a review of the strengths and weaknesses of the Welsh language services offered by high street banks operating in Wales and, based on the review, offer clear and practical recommendations in order to work towards solving any existing weaknesses.’

As well as the evidence and concerns received in 2014, the Commissioner invited individuals, associations and other organizations to contact her and share their experiences of the banks’ Welsh language services.
